Abstract
-
"We wanted to collaborate Harlem and its significant history and dwell it with a combination on how it can be archived together and displayed. Each group member archived a specific time in Malcolm's life that had a significant impact in his life, as well as Harlem, and we each decided on a scheme of how it could be archived today. For example, I decided show the time where Malcolm X had been threatened with his life by the Nation of Islam, which made him hold a firearm peeking out the window of his home in a famous picture. I decided to edit the firearm out and replace it with the Quran to showcase his true beliefs in his religion. The way I archived this was making it into a comic book theme to display this moment of his life. Other members created audio archives of his speeches, another created a VR interpretation of it, where you would use a VR headset and experience impactful moments in Malcolm X's life." -Bryan Santiago O'Byrne
