"My design envisions an artificial cultural garden that celebrates the rich diversity of our site by high-lighting the national plants associated with Harlem's many cultural backgrounds. I imagine these large-scale plants transforming vacant lots, symbolizing both opportunity and the beauty of Harlem’s diversity. These monumental plants can serve as social infrastructure, bringing life to underused spaces and honoring the community that calls Harlem home." -Jean Carlos
